About Us

Hello - I'm Mark, your host.  I love living in Wales. I am originally from the West Midlands but following many family holidays to mid-Wales, I decided this is where I wanted to be!  It's taken a while to get here, but I'm loving every minute! I enjoy meeting people and a warm welcome awaits guests!

Glanaber B&B.

Glanaber looks like a typical Welsh stone cottage at first sight, but in reality is a large 3 storey Edwardian terrace house. Built in 1910, the builder used the stone facade from the the previous stone cottages that were demolished to make way for the larger houses. Examples of tiny stone cottages are to be found all over Llwyngwril. The rear of Glanaber B&B faces Cardigan Bay with wonderful views from the second floor!

There are 2 rooms available and both have exclusive shower rooms including wash basin and toilet. Each room has tea and coffee facilities, wifi and satellite TV. A hearty full cooked breakfast is served or lighter choices are available including vegetarian and gluten free food.

Glanaber is 5 minutes walk from Llwyngwril beach, on the coastal footpath and an ideal base for walkers.

Things to Do.

The railway will take you to Tywyn where the historic narrow-guage steam Talyllyn railway is based. Rev. W. Awdrey, author of Thomas the Tank engine, volunteered here and was inspired to write the legendary childrens' stories from his time spent at Talyllyn. In addition there is the Magic Lantern Cinema in Tywyn which was built in 1893 and a fantastic treat for all. A Leisure Centre, supermarkets, pubs and fine restaurants are also found in Tywyn.

The railway continues to Aberdovey where perfect sandy beaches can be found. Fine dining, watersports, golf, kite flying and pubs are all to be found there too.

Bring your car for wonderful trips to Dolgellau, Barmouth, Machynlleth, Aberystwyth and Porthmadog - although all can be reached by public transport.

We are opposite a public house where lunch and dinner can be found. Indian and Chinese restaurants are available locally in addition to the best fish and chips!
